Reading and scripts
How do I start reading a script?
In the library, tap the yellow play button next to the script. Tap the screen to show the controls; they hide by themselves after a few seconds.
I made the text bigger. Does the speed change?
No. Speed is measured in words per minute on the text as laid out on screen, so changing the font size keeps the same pace.
How do I import a script?
Tap + in the library and choose Import script. Text files (.txt), Word documents (.docx) and PDFs work, or you can paste text. A PDF scanned as an image has no text to read — convert it first.
I deleted a passage by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes. In the editor, open the three-dot menu and choose Version history. Restoring creates a new version with the old content.
The text looks reversed on my teleprompter rig.
Use the mirroring button at the bottom of the reading screen, or turn on Horizontal mirroring under the gear.
Where are my scripts? How do I back them up?
Only on your device. They're included in your iPhone or iPad backup, depending on your settings. Deleting the app deletes the scripts.
Bluetooth remotes
How do I use a teleprompter remote?
Pair the remote in iPhone or iPad Settings › Bluetooth. While reading, space or Enter play and pause, up and down arrows change the speed, and left and right arrows go back and skip ahead.
My remote has other buttons.
In the app, go to Settings › Remote control and map each button to the function you prefer. Volume and media buttons don't reach the app and can't be mapped.
Sessions between devices
How do I control reading from another device?
On the device that shows the text, tap the antenna icon and Open session. On the other one, choose Controller and enter the six-digit code or scan the QR code. Both need Prompta Pro.
The controller can't find the prompter.
Check that Prompta has local network access on both devices (Settings › Prompta › Local Network), that they're close to each other or on the same Wi-Fi network, and that the session is still open. If it persists, end the session and open it again.
Does it need internet?
No. Between iPhone and iPad the connection is direct, even without Wi-Fi. On a Wi-Fi network, it doesn't need internet access.
Prompta Pro subscription
What does Prompta Pro include?
Controller mode and sessions between devices: controlling play, speed, font size, mirroring and margins from a distance, fixing the text live, and switching, editing, creating and importing scripts from the controller. Prompter mode stays free.
Do I need to subscribe on each device?
No. The subscription works on devices with the same Apple Account. On a new device, tap Settings › Restore Purchases.
How do I cancel?
In the app under Settings › Manage or cancel subscription, or in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
How do I request a refund?
Purchases are processed by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
